Originally from Traverse City, James has spent more than a decade living and photographing weddings in Chicago and destinations around the world. His passion for storytelling through photography began years ago as a photographer on his high school yearbook staff in the days of film cameras, and it continued to grow while attending Michigan State University. During a summer abroad living in London and traveling throughout Europe, James was rarely without a camera in hand — an experience that further shaped his love for capturing genuine moments and meaningful stories.

Now based once again in Traverse City, James is excited to photograph weddings throughout northern Michigan, from the shores of Lake Michigan and the vineyards of Old Mission Peninsula to intimate backyard celebrations and destination weddings across the state. His goal is simple: to create beautiful, honest images that allow couples and families to relive their memories for a lifetime.
